Free ‘Preparation for Breastfeeding’ webinar
No charge, no sign up, no fuss – just click and watch
During this webinar, you’ll learn about the benefits of breastfeeding for both you and your baby, how breastfeeding works, and tips to equip and empower you at all stages of breastfeeding – with a realistic picture of the early days and weeks.
First, we’ll talk about the benefits of breastfeeding. Breast milk is the perfect food for your baby, providing all the nutrients your baby needs for growth and development. Breast milk also contains antibodies that can help your baby fight off infections and illnesses. Breastfeeding can also help you bond with your baby and may reduce your risk of certain health problems, such as breast cancer.
Next, we’ll cover the basics of breastfeeding, and how breastfeeding works, including how to best prepare for breastfeeding in the light of this knowledge. You’ll also learn how to hand express your milk, positioning at the breast, how to tell your baby is getting enough milk, and how to deal with common breastfeeding challenges, such as sore nipples or engorgement.
The section on the early weeks will give a realistic picture of what to expect as you seek to establish your milk supply, and get to grips with breastfeeding, as well as plenty of troubleshooting information relating to common breastfeeding challenges.
Finally, we’ll discuss some of the different issues that you may face as time moves on, and your baby is older, e.g going back to work while breastfeeding. We’ll provide tips and information to equip you at all of these stages, as well as information on how to access support if needed.
